Operated one of Germany's largest biochar production plants in Hamburg since 2022, turning biogenic residues such as cocoa shells into biochar and renewable energy. Circular Carbon GmbH is in insolvency proceedings: in June 2025 the Charlottenburg local court ordered provisional insolvency administration over the econnext group, including Circular Carbon GmbH and CC Projekt Hamburg GmbH & Co. KG, and a sale process was started. The company website is no longer reachable. Whether the Hamburg plant continues under a new operator is open.
